Bananas add a new twist to this favorite French dessert.

  • 24    vanilla wafers, coarsely broken
  • 2    bananas, sliced (about 2 cups)
  • 1  (4-serving size)   package ROYAL Vanilla Pudding & Pie Filling
  • 2  cups   milk
  • 1/4  cup   packed brown sugar


  1. Place wafer pieces on bottom of 1 1/2-quart shallow heatproof dish. Top with banana slices; set aside.
  2. Cook pudding according to package directions using milk; pour evenly over bananas. Refrigerate 3 to 4 hours or until set.
  3. Evenly sprinkle sugar over pudding*; broil for 3 to 5 minutes of until sugar is melted and slightly browned. Serve immediately.
  4. *Sugar can be placed in a strainer and, using the back of a wooden spoon, pressed through strainer to top pudding evenly.
