BLACK BOTTOM PIE

This pie combines chocolate and vanilla pudding for a rich dessert.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2/3  cup   margarine or butter, divided
  • 14    squares graham crackers, finely rolled (about 1 cup crumbs)
  • 16    squares graham crackers, finely crushed (about 1 cup crumbs)
  • 3  tablespoons   sugar
  • 3  tablespoons   sugar
  • 2/3  cup   margarine or butter, melted, divided
  • 4    (1-ounce) squares semisweet chocolate
  • 4    (1-ounce) squares semisweet chocolate
  • 1/3  cup   Pecans or Walnuts, chopped
  • 1    (4-serving size) package ROYAL Instant Vanilla Pudding & Pie Filling
  • 1    (4-serving size) package instant vanilla pudding & pie filling
  • 2  cups   cold milk
  • 1  cup   cold milk
  • 1  cup   sour cream
  •     Prepared whipped topping and chocolate curls, for garnish

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix graham crumbs, sugar and 1/3 cup margarine or butter. Press on bottom and side of 9-inch pie plate; set aside.
  2. Heat remaining margarine or butter and chocolate in small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Spread on bottom of prepared crust; set aside.
  3. Prepare pudding according to package directions using milk. Spread into prepared crust. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Garnish pie with whipped topping and chocolate curls if desired.
