WILLIAMSBURG TRIFLE

English trifle comes to the Colonies complete with ladyfingers, creamy pudding and the flavor of dark rum in this cool and elegant dessert.

INGREDIENTS

  • 12    ladyfingers
  • 1/4  cup   raspberry jam
  • 1/4  cup   orange juice
  • 1/4  cup   dark rum
  • 1    (4-serving size) package ROYAL Vanilla Pudding & Pie Filling
  • 2  cups   cold milk
  • 1  cup   heavy cream, whipped
  •     Sliced Almonds, for garnish

DIRECTIONS

  1. Split ladyfingers; spread with jam. Reassemble and stand around side of 1-quart bowl. Combine orange juice and rum; slowly drizzle over ladyfingers. Set aside.
  2. Prepare pudding according to package directions using milk. Pour into prepared bowl; cover. Refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours.
  3. Spread or pipe whipped cream around edge of pudding; sprinkle with almonds.
